I have an office mate who was terminated without a notice of explanation. The scenario is this, A long before she had been noted of her absenteeism. Last Friday dated July 15, 2016, she worked half day from 8:00 a.m until 12 p.m. with the consent of her supervisor. At the end of her work on the day of July 20, 2016 she was approached by HR personnel that she cannot go back to work starting tomorrow July 21, 2016. She's not yet a regular employee but already in the company for more than a year. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This is just a rumor " I heard she was fired from work because there was somebody na nagpasipsip sa boss". My question is, Firing an employee from work without prior notice is legal? Can my office mate ask for damages/ payments?
