my friend is working in a convenient store, they are required to go on duty for more than 8 hours, though they are paid for their overtime duties. i just find it abusive because most of the time they were given four to five hours sleep and let them go on duty again. i am worried that they might get sick due to lack of rest.

just recently a supervisor recommended 1 crew to be terminated from work, then my friend received a text message from the same supervisor station (in our own dialect)

1st msg:
"Dili man nimo intention, but stil bawal. Sunod john dili naku ganahan mabuhat pa ni ug usab! wala nko mabuhat sa sunod.. Last chance ni nimo, kay kamo jud duha maghilak bah!"
("Di man intensyon mo, pero bawal parin. Sa susunot ayoko na mangyari pa ulit ito! wala na akong magawa sa susunod.. Last chance mo na to, kayong dalawa ang iiyak!")

2nd msg:
"Dili magsaba2 anah kang juna! Keep it to urself, kay kung makabalo juna, apil jd ka matang2."
("Huwag sabihin ito kay juna! Keep it to urself, if ever malaman ni juna to, kasama ka talaga sa matatangal".)

I just find the statement threatening. Please help me more about labor malpractice. And if there are legal offenses from the supervisors treatment and messages.

There is nothing much with the text messages I guess.

If they are given only 4-5 hours of sleep, then there is something wrong. File a case with the labor arbiter.
