TOPIC: Estafa

Estafa 3 years 1 month ago #17122

My previous Company file a qualified theft/ estafa case. I never attended any hearing and i signed a SPA to my Atty., but i wanted to settle it from the start that was my instruction.
Due to stressed and worry that i might get in prison, i left the country while the hearing was ongoing.
Last week the Prosecutor office dismissed the qualified theft but approved the estafa case. With 40,000 recommended bail. I was really worried because i already left the money to my lawyer for the settlement. Now i can not get in touch with him anymore. Then while searching him, i found out that he is just a middle-man of his friend who is signing the papers as my legal council, and now is all a problem.
My question is how will my case be settled. If i return to my country and post a bail what are my chances of not going to jail? I am willing to find a way to settle the demand. Thank you very much and i hope for your legal advice.

Thank you very much.
